Blue Dog Rescue presents Solar Powered Concerts In conjunction with Marsha Milam Music and Pro Show LIVE For Immediate Release! April 22, 2009 Austin, TX: Always ahead of the curve for better GREEN living, Marsha Milam Music and Pro Show LIVE present Solar Powered Concerts, sponsored by Blue Dog Rescue. Held every Wednesday at Republic Square Park (422 Guadalupe) in beautiful downtown Austin, this concert series offers the most sustainable and healthy live music event of the spring. Solar Powered Concerts benefits Blue Dog Rescue, Austin-area foster organization that rescues dogs from area shelters and finds them healthy homes. Rescue dogs will be on-site at every event, waiting to be scooped up into the right loving home. A percentage of the ticket proceeds go to Blue Dog Rescue and Austin Parks. The musical lineup is eclectic as Austin itself. Charlie Robison and Joe Ely kick off the series in true Texas style, with special guests Emory Quinn April 29th. Texas trio Los Lonely Boys bring their exciting brand of soulful Latin-infused rock to the stage May 6th. California-bred culture mashers Ozomatli offer a buffet of urban sounds, doused in Latin flavors from cumbia to salsa, Jamaican and Indian raga, served over hip hop beats. It’s a trip around the world in one night on June 3rd. The music comes to you “pollution free” -- a crystal clear sound void of stage hum. Surrounded by the landscape of Republic Square Park and Austin’s vibrant downtown, this event is a sonic experience unlike any other. In keeping with all things Green, Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop will provide free “valet parking” for all bicycles. For the show on April 29th, the first 200 advance tickets are FREE with a $1.50 donation to Blue Dog Rescue and Austin Parks, purchased through Frontgate Tickets (www.frontgatetickets.com). Tickets are $7 day-of-show. For all concerts, chairs and blankets are welcome. Solar Powered Concerts will hold a Happy Hour form 5 PM to 6 PM. Admission is FREE until 6 PM. There are 4 VIP Tables available for each show. VIP includes preferred seating, reserved parking, complimentary drinks, finger foods, and a chance to win an autographed guitar from the performing artist. Book your VIP table TODAY as it is First Come, First Serve. To book a table for the whole series at a discount, please call Greg Henry at (512) 452-6856. Come out and enjoy the beautiful spring weather while supporting great music, healthy homes for dogs, and a greener lifestyle for Austin and the Earth. Gates open at 5 P.M. Music at 5:30 P.M.
