merriweather for years has been one of the best outdoor venues in the US. Have seen Hendrix, Led Zep, Who, to Marilyn manson, Iron Maiden. Bands love playing there, Just don't get lawn seats unless you want a hassle.

I agree. The lawn is oversold for major acts and the on roof auxillary speakers may not work or are overpowered by the crowd noise. The owners have tried to sell the property for years but the planned community in Columbia has put the brakes on it so they just hang on and a quality has suffered. The venue is good for smaller acts and traffic is better than the Nissan.

I've found the sound dreadful, general admission tickets oversold to the point of people jammed on walkways, the staff non-existant once the performance starts, and email inquiries unanswered.

Merriweather Post Pavillion is a wonderful place to get a great listening experience to a wide range of musical guests. I go to concerts here every year and I have never had a bad experience! The MPP staff is tops and they are always trying to make your experience even more enjoyable. I highly reccommend this venue.
