I have to preface this review by saying that I was never a huge FF fan but was still a band I wanted to see live and I'm SO glad that I did. They are simply amazing. Boston was the last stop on their N. American tour . The intensity and energy that they showed tonight was incredible. It was the best rock show I've ever been to and I've been to many. They played for a straight three hours including an encore which had six songs. Though they're not my favorite band, they are definitely my favorite band to see live after tonight. I def got my money's worth and can't wait til they come around in the future.

    Artist: Korn
    Date of Concert: 6/8/2010
    Location: Portland, OR, Roseland Theater

My first time seeing Korn and I have to say it was the best concert I've ever been too. Seeing them in such a small venue for the first time and being right up front. It was a true experience. Best setlist too. I've seen Korn 5 times now and this one was the best. After this show I saw them at Mayhem Fest up in Auburn, WA on 07/13/2010. This show was good but since it was a festival they didn't play as long as I would have liked. Then I saw them at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland on 03/15/2011. It was basically the same setlist as the previous show, and they played w/ Disturbed & I thought they were horrible. It should have been Korn's tour. Then I saw them @ Pain in the Grass up in Auburn, WA again on 08/27/2011. This was probably the 2nd best show I've seen them play. They played "Its On!" and that made the entire show for me. After I saw them there I drove back down to Hillsboro, OR the next day to see them play Rockfest. I got up front at this show and yet again they did an amazing job. All in all Korn puts on one of the best shows I've ever seen. I will keep seeing them as much as I can. If you haven't seen them I highly suggest you do!

    Artist: Snoop Dogg
    Date of Concert: 3/4/2010
    Location: Portland, OR, Roseland Theater

My second time seeing Snoop. Even better then the first time I saw him because this time it was in a very small theater, compared to the last time I saw him in a coliseum. He just puts on an amazing show period. Plays all the hits and keeps the party going!

This was my first time ever seeing AIC. In my opinion they were amazing. Great venue too! Really small and up close and personal with the band. All of them were on point. Jerry even blew an amp while playing Dam That River! So they played it again! It was an amazing show, I highly recommend seeing them if they roll through your town.

My first time seeing Whitechapel and I have to say it was amazing. They opened for TDWP. Personally I think they are better live then on their albums. I was blown away. If they ever come back through Oregon as a headlining act I am going for sure.

Great live show at Altar Bar. Small venue made for a great experience for all that attended. Andy Hull and the boys pulled out all the stops performing their hits and come crowd favorites. Great crowd interaction. Overall a great show!

Location: New York City, NY, USA

I saw Buffy Sainte-Marie play the HighLine Ballroom on March 28, 2008 and it was one of my concert highlights for that year. She sings with power, passion, and belief in her stories, heritage and history. If you can get to the concert, I would encourage you to do so. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this time around, but I would be there if I could.

Awesome show - they've been on my list to see for quite a while and am glad I saw them at Dave's hometown concert - did not disappoint - would recommend to true rock fans.

    Artist: David Clayton-Thomas
    Date of Concert: 11/8/2011
    Location: Winnipeg, MB, Canada

David Clayton-Thomas hit town last night, making his debut appearance at McPhillips Street Station, and his first in Winnipeg since his show at the Red River Exhibition grounds back in 2009.

Though performing only a handful of live gigs in the interim years, the former lead vocalist/songwriter extraordinaire for Blood, Sweat and Tears has kept plenty busy since his last stop, penning an autobiography called “Blood, Sweat and Tears, releasing 2 new CDs - The Evergreens and Soul Ballads, receiving a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2010, and, most recently, making a 2nd appearance last month on CBC’s Cover Me Canada.

Clayton-Thomas entered to rousing applause, still looking youthful for his years, sporting a charcoal grey suit, blue open collar dress shirt, and matching suspenders a la Larry King.

Although maintaining the “must play” hits, the Grammy Award winner varied the set list from his previous visit, opening with the 1-2 punch of his self-penned, 1968 BS&T smash Spinning Wheel, followed by his 1970 Carol King/Gerry Goffin penned hit “Hi-De-Ho.”

The Canadian Music Hall of Famer’s voice, though huskier, is instantly recognizable.
The songs lacked none of his trademark power and emotion. The former BS&T frontman is still fully capable of wringing every ounce of emotion out of a slow blues, flexing his vocal muscle on a pop rocker, or scatsing through a jazz number with the best of them.

His super tight 10-piece backing band, consisting of some of the finest jazz players in Canada, demonstrated their impressive chops throughout the night, and were given plenty of solo room such as on the DLC’s song “Mornin’ Blues” from his 2009 release Spectrum, that featured a fine solo baritone sax solo from Colleen Allen.

Demonstrating great rapport with the audience, Clayton-Thomas told some extremely entertaining anecdotes about the background of some of his biggest hits.

Introducing BS&T’s 1969 Laura Nyro penned hit “And When I Die,” he told how he met the then totally unknown singer-songwriter, who sat at the piano and tried to interest him in a few of her “unrecorded” songs, and proceeded to pick his jaw up off the floor after being played “Wedding Bell Blues,” “Stone Cold Picnic,” “Eli’s Coming,” and “When I Die” – future smash hits for the 5th Dimension, Three Dog Night, and, of course BS&T.

A tale of “losing his ass” in Vegas after BS&T played a 7 night engagement at Caesar’s Palace, preceded his punchy 1971 hit Go Down Gambling, followed by a song inspired by car accident in Wawa, ON, which marooned the band for a week and led to meeting “a bad ass woman” - the prelude to his 1970 hit Lucretia McEvil, which featured some fine scats singing by DLC and a great tenor sax solo by Michael Stuart.

A soulful cover of Sam Cooke’s classic “A Change Is Gonna Come” from DLC’s 2010 studio album Soul Ballad, preceded the funky drunky “Gimme That Wine.”(a personal fav).

In the home stretch, his romantic ballad You’re the One, a song he wrote for his former wife, preceded his 1969 BS&T monster hit ~ You Made Me So Very Happy, and, after following a thunderous standing ovation, DLC returned and finished with his stirring reading of Billie Holliday’s God Bless the Child.
