68,000 visitors per day visited the festival last year.

More than 100,000 fans decided to hold on to their tickets for this year’s Hurricane and Southside festivals in Germany and validate them for next year’s editions.
Last year, Hurricane welcomed 68,000 visitors per day, Southside was sold out with 60,000 festival fans per day. Which means promoter FKP Scorpio is en route to selling out both of its flagship festivals in Germany.
Company founder Folkert Koopmans said he was “overwhelmed” by those numbers, adding that the fans’ decisions to hold on to their tickets was “very encouraging” to his entire team.
According to a promoter statement, most artists confirmed for this year had already confirmed for next year, including Twenty One Pilots, Kontra K, The Lumineers.
Meanwhile, FKP Scorpio, in cooperation with a few TV stations, will broadcast a special festival program this coming weekend, when both Hurricane and Southside festivals would have taken place this year, June 19-21. Concerts, interviews, background reports are part of the program.
