$1.6M Raised: United We Stream Expands To 65 Cities

Brighton, England, has joined the list of cities participating in the United We Stream initiative, which was launched by the clubs in Berlin, Germany, during lockdown.
On March 18, Berlin’s world-renowned underground club scene joined forces to launch an online club: live streams by various DJs and from various empty clubs in the city, broadcast to an online and TV audience. The aim: raising donations for the sector. 
Since then, 65 cities have joined United We Stream, including Bangkok, Thailand, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Manchester, England, as well as New York and LA.
At press time, Lutz Leichsenring of Berlin’s Clubcommission said, the campaign has raised donations of €1.4 million ($1.6 million) and counted a unique viewership of 35 million. 
The latest city joining the campaign, Brighton, England, is well-known for its grassroots music scene, which includes The Tempest, Big Beach Cafe, Enter Art Gallery (formerly Art Republic), The Brighton Centre, the British Airways i360 tower and many more, all of which are the hear and soul of Live Nation’s annual Great Escape talent festival, which usually takes place in May.
Brighton’s venues will be streaming live music and performances every weekend, launching on Thursday, June 18, with a program curated by Brighton-based label SKINT.
