Australia: Keith Urban, Red Hot Summer, Hoodoo Gurus, Setting Up For 2022

Fans will have to wait even longer for Keith Urban’s long-anticipated return to Australia following his high-profile stint as a coach on the 2021 season of “The Voice Australia.” The tour was postponed a year by TEG Live, with new dates set for December ’22. 

Urban said the Australian run of “The Speed Of Now World Tour” was affected by “potential travel restrictions, COVID issues, capacity issues.”
He added: “I am so sorry guys. I’ve been psyched to come and play for so long.”
The fresh dates, with new opening act The Birds of Tokyo, take in 10 arenas Dec. 1-17, 2022. 
MJR/ TEG’s Heavy Metal Rules, originally announced in early 2020 featuring Steel Panther, now stages five shows Oct. 17-23, 2022.
The Red Hot Summer Tour announced 13 shows February 20 to May 14, a handful left over from last year from COVID restrictions.
The dates are headed by ‘80s multi-platinum Hunters & Collectors reuniting for their 40th anniversary, atop a star-studded bill with James Reyne, The Living End, The Angels, Killing Heidi, Baby Animals and Boom Crash Opera.
Hoodoo Gurus moved their 40th anniversary tour to April 2 to 14, with Frontier Touring adding The Dandy Warhols as openers and bumping up the number of open air and indoor shows to six.
Live Nation brings back pop-rock band Motor Ace for seven club dates behind the 20th anniversary edition of breakthrough album Five Star Laundry. Their 2018 reunion was a sell-out.
Of fresh international shows, Secret Sounds has Gorillaz playing John Cain Arena, Melbourne (July 24) and Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney (26) after headline Splendour In the Grass July 22.
Irish trio The Script returns after four years for Frontier Touring with a greatest hits set. They are set to do Riverstage, Brisbane (Sept 15), Aware Super Theatre, Sydney (16), Sidney Myer Music Bowl Melbourne (17) and Perth’s RAC Arena (20).
