Bandsintown continues to offer robust livestreaming options during the coronavirus crisis.

The platform announced plans Monday to host an eclectic group of electronic producers and DJs for the 12-hour net.werk Festival this Thursday on Twitch and Twitter.

The lineup, which features artists including Krewella, Ducky, Mija, HANA, Sophie (of Sofi Tukker) and more, was booked to celebrate gender non-binary, queer, PoC and female-identifying electronic music creators.

Producer Dani Deahl will host the event, which will direct all proceeds to MusiCares’ COVID relief fund.

“We are in an online space where there’s the opportunity to make different choices, yet that hasn’t been happening,” Deahl said in a statement. “So we decided to do something about it. Bandsintown was a natural choice for their ongoing effort to support artists. They immediately expressed support for our values and our vision.”

Bandsintown has played an instrumental role in supporting musicians as the unprecedented crisis has shut down the traditional touring industry, depriving many artists of their livelihoods in the process.

“We immediately identified that artists are going to suffer a lot, as 80% of their revenue, if not all of their revenue, for some of them, is coming from live music,” Bandsintown managing partner Fabrice Sergent told Pollstar.

The company partnered with Twitch in late March to provide performers a way to fast-track the verification process and more quickly monetize performances, and more than 725,000 unique viewers have tuned in to Bandsintown’s Twitch channel since it launched three weeks ago.

“The developing artists, they face a tremendous challenge to not be able to tour in person, physically, but they also face a tremendous opportunity to shine and rise as livestream talents,” Sergent said. “We want to explore that. Times are tough, but it’s also during such times that creativity can emerge.”
