– Introducing Bandsintown PLUS
Concert discovery platform Bandsintown is taking its livestreaming game to the next level. After pivoting during the pandemic from compiling concert dates to supporting up-and-coming artists with the Bandsintown Live music channel on Twitch, the company has announced Bandsintown PLUS, a premium live music streaming subscription service.
Priced at $9.99 a month, the service offers an “All Access Pass” to stream more than 25 live shows per month, produced exclusively for Bandsintown PLUS. The subscription includes perks such as chats with artists and access to concerts on other platforms. Fans can check it out now with a 7-day free trial at Bandsintown.com/plus
The debut lineup for January and February includes performances by  Phoebe Bridges, Chromeo, the debut solo livestream of Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief, a solo set from Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes, Flying Lotus, Joe Bonamassa, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Toro y Moi, Soccer Mommy, and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco with a full band set and rare fan Q&A.
“For the past year, we’ve been hungry for live shows and for a chance to support the artists we love. Bandsintown PLUS is an opportunity to break the barriers of cost and location that have historically hindered live music experiences. Now, with Bandsintown PLUS, live music can be more affordable, more accessible, and more approachable,” Fabrice Sergent, Managing Partner of Bandsintown, said in a statement.
He added, “Touring artists have been economically ravaged by Covid-19’s restrictions. Bandsintown PLUS is a chance to help innovate the industry, creating new sources of revenue for artists, while deepening connections with their fans.”
A recent Bandsintown survey found that less than 30% of fans had live-streamed before COVID but by the fall 73% watched at least one livestream per month. In June, three months after COVID hit the U.S., just 1.9% of livestreams were ticketed events but by November paid livestreams made up 50.7% of listed livestreams. The survey notes that fans willingness to pay for streams has grown 20% during the time period, with 80% of fans now up for ticketing livestreams.
Bandsintown Outskirts – which has featured country and Americana artists – was included in Pollstar’s Top Ten 2020 Streamers.
