Barbra Streisand returns to New York City’s Madison Square Garden Aug. 3, some 13 years after she last performed at the World’s Most Famous Arena and just more than two years since a triumphant homecoming concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Tickets go on sale Monday, June 17 at 9 a.m. local time, via Ticketmaster Charge By Phone, Ticketmaster outlets and MSG, Radio City Music Hall and Beacon Theatre box offices, as well as through Ticketmaster’s website.

There’s also no word in Madison Square Garden’s press release regarding ubiquitous VIP packages – a staple of the concert ticket-buying experience but noticeably absent from Streisand’s show announcement. Pollstar has reached out to Team Streisand for comment.

But enough about tickets – a NYC Barbra Streisand concert is always a top cultural event in the city and with shows so few and far between, demand for tickets is almost a given.

Pollstar data going back to 1999 reveals she has reported 68 performances across 20 years – and every one a sellout. Her last full tour, in 2016, moved an average of 13,618 tickets and grossed $3,543,438 per show across 14 dates.

Streisand has been a fixture on the American cultural landscape heading into her seventh decade, from Broadway to film to the concert stage. Streisand has 52 gold, 31 platinum and 13 multi-platinum albums in her career and is the only recording artist or group to achieve No. 1 albums in each of six consecutive decades.

Streisand is the only artist ever to receive Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Grammy, Directors Guild of America, Golden Globe, National Medal of Arts and Peabody Awards, as well as Frances Legion d’Honneur, the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award and is the first female film director to receive the Kennedy Center Honors. In 2015, President Barack Obama presented her with the highest civilian honor the United States bestows, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

She may now live in Malibu, Calif., but clearly her heart belongs to the Big Apple.

“There are no fans like New York Fans!” Streisand said while making the announcement with longtime manager Marty Ehrlichman, “and I can’t wait to return to Madison Square Garden to perform some new songs, some old songs and anything I find in between.”

The Ticketmaster Charge By Phone number is 1-866-858-0008.
