Big Noise & Commission Records Announce Partnership

Media company Big Noise and Commission Records are joining forces for a strategic partnership in a deal that includes equity purchase as well as funding for marketing, promotion, staff expansion and infrastructure.
The June 12 announcement about the new venture notes that the pairing is natural because of a “shared ethos and commitment to both entrepreneurial independence and artistic integrity.” Commission founder and CEO Anthony Martini will develop business opportunities for both entities, while the partnership will utilize Big Noise’s resources as a company that combines recording, publishing, e-sports and live festival properties.
Martini founded Commission Music in 2015, when he was managing Lil’ Dicky at the time, to give the rapper the opportunity to release his tunes outside the major label system. The company grew as Martini teamed with fellow manager and industry veteran Doug Neumann and its roster includes MadeinTYO, Lil Dicky, Derez De’Shon, DJ Envy, and Powers Pleasant. Commission has led its clients to amassing over 4 billion streams, multiple gold and platinum certifications, chart-topping releases.
Big Noise boasts the new state-of-the-art recording studio the Noise Nest and the company also includes Big Noise Live, which curates, manages and produces national live events.
Earlier this month Big Noise Live announced the one-day music and fitness festival FYF Fest, coming to Orange County this fall. Big Noise Live also joined with Find Your Grind and Universal Music Group’s UMusic Experience to put together the FYG U Music + Tech Festival, bringing music, esports, panels and more to major universities across the country.

Big Noise’s team features CEO Nick Gross, President Jon Cohen, and Head of A&R John Feldman.
“The spirit of Commission has always been about betting on yourself, so it was a natural fit to align with guys like Nick and Jon who truly have skin in the game,” Commission’s Anthony Martini said in a statement. “These artists trust us with their livelihood, I want to go into battle with a team who understands the importance of that because they’ve been there.”
Big Noise’s Jon Cohen adds, “I’ve known the Commission guys for years and have marveled at the company’s track record of betting early, and correctly, on winning talent. Ant is a hardcore A and R man, passionate and committed, a perfect ethos for Big Noise. We’re beyond excited to be partnering with him.”
