Blake Shelton Announces ‘Friends And Heroes’ Dates

Blake Shelton announced another installment of his “Friends And Heroes Tour” on Wednesday.

As he did in early 2019, in early 2020 the country star will hit the road with Lauren Alaina, The Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson and Trace Adkins for an arena tour.

Shelton’s 2020 tour kicks off Feb. 13 at Moda Center, in Portland, Ore., and will hit stops throughout the West Coast and Midwest before concluding March 21 at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena. Other highlights include Los Angeles’ Forum (March 7) and Denver’s Pepsi Center (March 14).

Notably, there’s no overlap between the 17 arenas Shelton played earlier this year and the 16 rooms he’s slated to play early next.

“The ‘Friends and Heroes Tour was so exciting and successful last year that I couldn’t imagine not trying something like that again,” Shelton said in a statement. “Even though every night when the show wrapped, I would tell the audience that they might never see something like this again, with these legends, my plan all along was to at least try to make that happen. I didn’t know if I’d be able to get the same artists, but we were able to work it out where we have the Bellamy Brothers, John Anderson, Trace Adkins and Lauren Alaina all coming back to do the exact same tour.

“We were only able to do a handful of shows last year, so we’re going to take the tour to different areas so that fans will get a chance to see what we did,” he continued. “I feel like it was the best concert experience that I’ve ever been involved in, and I’m ready to get fired up again.”

Commercially, it makes sense that Shelton would want to revive the tour: Nearly all of the $18.6 million gross he’s amassed in 2019 comes from his “Friends and Heroes” dates in February and March. Sold-out highlights from Shelton’s 2019 included a Feb. 14 gig at Oklahoma City’s Chesapeake Energy Arena, where he moved 12,130 tickets and grossed $1.2 million, and a March 15 gig at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn., where he moved 13,785 tickets and grossed $1.3 million, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.

The year is just another strong one for the road warrior, who has appeared on Pollstar‘s Top 200 North American Tours chart in seven of the past eight years, including $41.4 million grossed from 2016 to 2018.

And while this tour may be the same on its face, Shelton will likely have new surprises: He releases Fully Loaded: God’s Country, an album featuring seven previous hits and five new tracks, on Dec. 13.
