Brooklyn Made Presents hired Live Nation veteran Max MacClennen as senior vice president of operations.

Rapidly growing New York promotion company Brooklyn Made Presents announced the addition of Max MacClennen as senior vice president of operations on Tuesday.

In his role, MacClennen will oversee production and operations across Brooklyn Made’s expanding portfolio, including at 500-capacity Bushwick club Brooklyn Made, which opened in late September.

Anthony Makes, former Live Nation New York president, founded Brooklyn Made in 2020, and knows MacClennen, formerly Live Nation director of production, from their time together at the concert giant.

“Anthony and I met at Live Nation and have always worked really well together,” MacClennen said in a statement. “We’ve always agreed that in order to sustainably grow the economy of our industry, the focus has to be on the artists, the fans, and the live music – and not on the organizations that back those entities. That’s the concept that Anthony brought over and that we’re trying to build with Brooklyn Made Presents.”

MacClennen joined Brooklyn Made Presents over the summer, working in conjunction with LSC, Technical Arts Group and City Production Serves to help the company’s flagship Bushwick club achieve its opening on time.

“These are three phenomenal teams that everyone should be clamoring to work with on their next venue build,” MacClennen said. “We put our heads together and found a way to pull off a seemingly impossible design and build, that many people thought couldn’t be done in time.”

In his role at Live Nation, MacClennen oversaw events at venues including Barclays Center, Nassau Coliseum, Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall, and he co-designed, built and managed The Rooftop at Pier 17, winner of Best New Concert Venue at the 2019 Pollstar Awards. Prior to Live Nation, MacClennen served as production manager at Central Park Summerstage.

MacClennen will have plenty to keep him busy at Brooklyn Made Presents. Makes has made his intent clear to continue expanding the company’s portfolio, with new clubs in and beyond New York City.

“There are no limits,” Makes told Pollstar in June upon the announcement of Brooklyn Made in Bushwick. “We think it all starts at this club. This club is going to represent who we are and what this company is.”
