BTS Announces Routing For ‘Map Of The Soul Tour’

BTS is following up its highly successful “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” trek with a 2020 globe-trotting adventure called “Map Of The Soul Tour” that will take the K-pop group back to stadiums the guys previously sold out, along with new cities and venues. 

The 37-date tour encompasses 17 cities across three continents, starting with four shows in BTS’s hometown of Seoul, South Korea, at Olympic Stadium April 11-12 and 18-19. 
The superstars head to the U.S. next starting with two nights at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., (April 25-26); Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. (May 2-3) MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.; (May 23-24); and Soldier Field in Chicago. (June 5-6). 
BTS set a two-night gross record at the Rose Bowl in May 2019 by grossing nearly $16.6 million, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports, narrowly edging the $16.3 million Taylor Swift grossed in May 2018.
BTS notched the third-highest-grossing two-night stand at MetLife, with $14.1 million grossed, after the Stones’ August mark of $25.5 million and U2’s June 2017 mark of $14.6 million.
The “Map Of the Soul Tour” also features stops at Dallas’ Cotton Bowl Stadium, Orlando’s Camping World Stadium, Atlanta’s Bobby Dodd Stadium, Landover, Md.’s FedExField and Toronto’s Rogers Centre.

The group has a string of nights planned in Japan, with multiple gigs slotted in Fukuoka, Osaka, Saitama and Tokyo. 
European fans will be treated to shows in London, Berlin and Barcelona.  
The tour goes along with BTS’s fourth studio album, Map Of The Soul: 7, due out Feb. 21. 
Pollstar spoke to BTS’s team last year about the fervor surrounding the group as part of our September 2019 BTS cover story.
“I thought I understood what it meant to have a large and passionate fan base, and I will admit I didn’t,” says Jared Braverman, senior vice president, touring at Live Nation, which promotes BTS outside of Japan and South Korea. “My idea of what I thought this was completely changed when I was immersed in it. To this day, I still can’t explain it to anyone. All I can say is, ‘Come to a show and be a part of it.’”
He adds, “It’s such a global phenomenon. BTS is massive all around the world. Their audience continues to grow at a rate unlike anything we’ve seen before, and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.”
A Ticketmaster Verified Fan presale for Global Official Fanclub Army members begins at 3 p.m. local time Wednesday, Feb. 5th and runs until 11 p.m. local time on Thursday, Feb. 6th. 
The General Verified Fan presale starts at 3 p.m. local time on Thursday, Feb. 6th through 11pm local time that same day. 
Registration for both the Fanclub Army presale and eneral Verified Fan registration is now open until Sunday, Feb. 2nd at 10 p.m. EST. 
Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, Feb. 7th at 3 p.m. local time at LiveNation.com.
