Burger Boogaloo announced Monday that it’ll move its event to July 2021 – and that it will take its stacked lineup with it.

The Oakland, Calif., punk festival had already moved once from its originally planned dates of July 11-12, 2020, pushing the event to Oct. 31-Nov. 1, 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic threw the live industry into disarray this spring.

But, as with that postponement, Burger’s new announcement comes with a silver lining: Bikini Kill, Circle Jerks and the rest of the lineup remain on board for next year’s installment, which will take take place July 10-11, 2021.

Naturally, John Waters will return as host for a sixth consecutive Boogaloo.

For its rescheduled 2021 event, Burger Boogaloo kept its 2020 lineup intact.

“Like a punk rock leap year, BB2021 will be back next July to slam your ass and tickle your musical pleasure!” Waters said in a statement.

“As we await the return of live music during these trying times, we hope that the passion and sense of belonging that Burger Boogaloo attendees have fostered can continue to flourish through peaceful support for the Black Lives Matter movement and other communities whose struggles deserve to be heard,” organizers wrote in the postponement announcement. “While we’re disappointed that the festival has been delayed for a second time, we look forward to celebrating the return of live music with a Burger Boogaloo unlike any other. Until then, please keep safe and keep listening.”

The 11th edition of Burger Boogaloo is a doozy for Northern California punk fans, including Bikini Kill’s first show in the Bay Area in 25 years, and Circle Jerks and Carbonas’ first gigs there in a decade. Plastic Bertrand’s appearance will be its first Bay Area concert ever, and the lineup also features Bleached, Shannon Shaw, Alice Bag, Flipper, The Fevers, Pansy Division, The Younger Lovers, Midnite Snaxxx, Hammered Satin and The Rubinoos.

All previously purchased Burger Boogaloo tickets will be honored.

Last year’s Burger Boogaloo lineup featured The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Scientists, Shannon and the Clams, Sheer Mag and more.
