CAA Sports Acquires ICON

ICON Venue Group, an owner’s representative and project management firm, has been acquired by CAA Sports, the companies announced March 21. ICON manages development, design and construction of sports, entertainment and public assembly facilities worldwide.

Headquartered in Denver, the company will continue to operate as ICON Venue Group and be led by founder Tim Romani. It has overseen development, design and construction of major stadiums and arenas in North America and Europe. Venues currently under construction or renovation by ICON include those for the Sacramento Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz.

ICON’s portfolio also includes The O2 arena in London, Consol Energy Center, Prudential Center, Sprint Center, Rogers Place, Sports Authority Field, 10 of 14 MLS stadium either constructed or renovated and the Wrigley Field Restoration project.

ICON Venue Group is the sixth strategic acquisition by CAA Sports in the past 10 months. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
