Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse has hired Brooke Bockelman as the vice president of booking for the 20,750-capacity arena.
The Ohio native will coordinate the FieldHouse’s event calendar, including schedules for the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and AHL’s Cleveland Monsters, along with musical entertainment, live shows and other private events. Bockelman will also handle budgeting, event production, promotion and negotiation for the venue formerly known as Quicken Loans Arena. The April 16 announcement from the venue notes that she’ll also work with community leaders to bring national events to Cleveland and the venue.
Bockelman most recently served as director of booking for Columbus Arena Sports & Entertainment, which handles events for the city’s Nationwide Arena, the Schottenstein Center and Ohio Stadium. During her seven years at CASE, including serving as the booking manager and booking coordinator, she managed large-scale concerts and conventions as well as national NCAA events. Before that she worked for Live Nation Ohio Valley and Columbus Blue Jackets Arena Management.
“Brooke has worked with some of the best people in the industry and is highly respected across the country,” said Antony Bonavita, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse senior vice president of facility operations.  “We are excited to welcome someone with such diverse event experience into this role to help maintain our long-standing reputation as one of the busiest arenas in the country and the world!”
Bockelman was inducted into the International Association of Venue Managers’ (IAVM) 30 Under 30 Club in 2016. Three years before that she established the Michael Belkin Scholarship at The Ohio State University, her alma mater, to send students to Pollstar Live!
Upcoming shows at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse include Eric Church April 19-20, The Black Keys Sept 30, Carrie Underwood Oct. 16 and Celine Dion Oct. 18.
Recent reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice department for the venue include a March 21 show by Kelly Clarkson that sold 8,256 tickets and grossed $453,786 and a Feb. 6 gig by Cher that sold 12,504 tickets and grossed $1,179,772.
