Commemorating Gregg Allman’s Last Album

A series of special events held in Los Angeles, Nashville and Macon, Ga., will honor the release of the late Gregg Allman’s final studio album, Southern Blood.

The events kick off Sept. 7 at the

Two days later, Gregg Allman will posthumously receive the key to his hometown, Macon, Ga., at a ceremony held at The Allman Brothers Band Museum at The Big House, which was once home to the original band from 1970 to 1973. An additional event will be held at The Big House later that same evening, which will also feature Devon Allman, Lehman, Sharrard and Chank Middleton, one of Gregg Allman’s closest friends and editor-in-chief of The Bitter Southerner.

The final event takes place at the annual AMERICANAFEST: The American Music Festival & Conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Ford Theater in Nashville Sept. 15.  Devon Allman and Lehman, along with musicians Buddy Miller, Joan Osborne, Pony Bradshaw and

Southern Blood, out Sept. 8, was recorded while Gregg Allman was struggling with liver cancer.
