Los Angeles has long been known as a city of dreamers, a mecca for would-be stars hoping to make it in film, television or the music business. In addition to being home to such iconic landmarks as the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Disneyland, as well as 11 major league sports teams, the sprawling metropolis is chock-full of esteemed venues that have hosted gigs ranging from up-and-coming acts’ breakout performances to the biggest bands’ stadium shows.  

The Jonas Brothers played the biggest 2021 amphitheater show in the L.A. market with the trio’s Oct. 27 Hollywood Bowl gig that sold 16,523 tickets and grossed $2,028,069, while the Eagles were the No. 1 arena show with the legendary rock band’s three shows at Inglewood’s 
Forum, which began Oct. 15 and grossed an average of $2,991,407 for a total of $8,974,221. 
Neighboring SoFi Stadium hosted the biggest stadium event with two shows from The Rolling Stones beginning Oct. 14 and 17, which grossed $18,887,679.
After hosting the filming of Global Citizen’s “Vax Life” benefit concert in May 2021, the 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium welcomed Kaskade for its first in-person event in July, as well as the kickoff of Los Bukis’ reunion tour Aug. 27-28. Major upcoming events at SoFi include Super Bowl LVI in February, the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2023 and the Summer Olympics in 2028.
Other recent developments in the L.A. market include the Memorial Coliseum opening its new 10,000-capacity outdoor venue The Torch Aug. 13 with an event headlined by Lil Wayne. Groundbreaking on the ocV!be mixed-use development surrounding the Honda Center in Anaheim is expected to take place this summer. 
As for more intimate buildings, Sunset Strip clubs like The Roxy continue to book must-see acts, from Neil Young opening the venue in 1973 to Adele’s debut tour in 2008 to GAYLE’s upcoming March 14 gig.
