The Isolated Incident – Global Thermo Comedy Tour is being proclaimed the largest comedy tour in history, according to a statement on Cook’s Web site. Although Cook may have his haters from critics to fellow comedians, nobody can deny his star power and ability to fill an arena. And in troublesome economic times like these, who couldn’t use a good laugh?

The first round of U.S. and Canadian dates have been announced with the tour kicking off at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., April 25 with dates through a show at Philips Arena in Atlanta, June 27.

Additional dates include performances at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., (May 2), Air Canada Centre in Toronto (May 8), three nights at Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas (May 22-24) and United Center in Chicago (June 14).

Cook wrote on his Web site that he is excited to hit the road and start cranking out the jokes.

“Taking this new tour around the world is a desire I’ve wanted to fulfill for sometime now, based on the tremendous response I received during the select dates I have done internationally. To travel the globe and see beautiful places, while entertaining fans from every corner of the earth is massive. I promise tons of special surprises while looking forward [to] performing around 100 shows over the next year, and in the process I expect to rack up some serious frequent flyer miles.”

Pre-sale tickets went on sale yesterday March 9 with a password on DaneCook.com and Ticketmaster.com. The password is SUFI, although I’m not exactly sure the point of an extra special top secret password if it’s being listed on Ticketmaster.com – where almost everyone and their brother go to purchase tickets. Weird.

If using the password feels too secretive and you’d rather wait around and take your chances on snagging tickets, you can purchase tickets when they become available to the general public this Friday, March 13 at 10 a.m.

Tickets are priced at $100, $75, $50 and $30 with VIP packages also available.

Fans can catch the debut of “Isolated Incident” on Comedy Central in May. The accompanying CD/DVD is set for release May 19. Cook challenged himself to transform his act from performing in front of 20,000 fans busting their ribs laughing to an intimate gathering of only 20 people at the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, Calif.
