Dead & Company and a few thousand of their best friends will take to the beach for a second year of “Playing In The Sand,” an all-inclusive destination weekend in Riviera Maya, Mexico, Jan. 17-20.

In collaboration with CID Presents and host resort The Barceló May & Barceló Palace, Playing In The Sand gives Deadheads nine resorts to choose from as home base for three nights of concerts on the beach from the Dead & Company’s core four lineup of Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, John Mayer, and Bob Weir joined by Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.

The band’s 2018 summer tour is ranked No 12 on Pollstar’s 2018 Mid-Year Top 100 North American Tours chart.

In addition to the Barcelo properties, guests can choose from the Secrets Akumal, Dreams Tulum, The Hard Rock Hotel, Unico, Rosewood Mayakoba, Banyan Tree Mayakoba, and Fairmont Mayakoba properties, all on the Riviera Maya.

In addition to Dead & Company’s three concerts on the beach, Playing in the Sand offers guests an assortment of curated amenities such as all-inclusive food and drink, premium resort accommodations, shuttle service to and from Cancun International Airport, official Dead & Company Riviera Maya Merchandise, and 24-hour concierge service.

There will also be a slew of on-site activities including yoga, tequila tasting, bowling and surfing, as well as a many off-site adventures that allow guests to explore Mexico’s amazing natural treasures and  ancient history.

Those who attended last year’s Playing In The Sand are eligible for an exclusive “alumni only” presale beginning Monday Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. EDT. First-timers can register at the Playing In The Sand website in advance, and take advantage of another presale that starts the next day – one day before the general onsale begins Aug. 22.

Guests can secure packages utilizing a payment plan which divides the package price into four equal payments, the first being due at the time of purchase followed by three equal monthly payments of the remaining balance September – November.

Packages range in cost from $1,714 to $5,422 for the five-day stay, depending on the hotel. Additional add-ons like extra days are also available.

In addition to its summer tour, Dead & Company helped raise more than $1.1 million by performing at a private fundraiser in the Hollywood Hills, to benefit Oceana’s mission of protecting and preserving the world’s oceans. Two final 2018 Summer Tour dates remain – August 25-26 in Arrington, Va., when they headline the LOCKN’ Festival.
