Dead & Company are bringing back Playing In The Sand, the band’s 3-day “concert vacation” destination event in Cancun, Mexico, Jan. 13-16, 2022, after a year’s hiatus, in partnership with CID Presents and On Location.

The band will perform shows nightly on the beach at Moon Palace Cancun and, as in past years,  Playing In The Sand promises plenty of daytime entertainment and amenities including a spa and 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course that are part of the resort facility.
All-inclusive Playing In The Sand 2022 packages go on sale to the general public Friday, April 9 at 1 p.m. ET. A pre-sale for previous attendees begins Wednesday, April 7, also at 1 p.m. ET and through the event website
In addition to daytime entertainment and nightly concerts, guests will be encouraged to enrich their weekend with exploration of the natural beauty of the Yucatan Peninsula and rich Mayan culture through various off-site adventures including diving in underground cenotes, visiting the lost capital of Chichen Itza, discovering the natural beauty of Isla Mujeres, sailing on luxury catamarans, and more.
The 2022 edition marks a return to Moon Palace Cancun, where the last Playing In The Sand took place in 2020, selling 6,127 tickets and grossing nearly $18.7 million. As an all-inclusive event, tickets include luxury hotel accommodations and gourmet food and drink.
And as a bonus, attendees can be assured the only footprints left in Cancun will be on the sand.

CID Presents and Dead & Company will continue their work with longtime sustainability partner REVERB, to expand Playing in the Sand’s comprehensive greening program and make the entire event climate-positive.
As part of REVERB’s forthcoming Music Climate Revolution campaign, at least 130% of emissions generated during the 2022 concerts – including guest, artist and crew travel as well as transportation and energy usage throughout the resort and venue – will be neutralized via verifiable clean energy or carbon mitigation projects.
In addition to a single-use plastic-free concert area, all waste discarded throughout the resort will be sorted during the event and diverted from landfill. These efforts have resulted in more responsible and sustainable event production while directly contributing to important local reforestation projects in Mexico which fight the climate crisis.

Guests can also be assured that the event will take place as safely as possible, as CID Presents will closely monitor relevant recommendations and guidelines imposed by local authorities and The World Health Organization to ensure a safe experience for all guests.
Palace Resorts provides safety protocols that go beyond the already stringent quality controls and health measures in place, with the implementation of more than 250 preventive actions to assure guest health and safety. For more information regarding Health & Safety plans, please click here
