performs at Falls Festival on January 5, 2019 in Fremantle, Australia.
As promised, Dean Lewis is returning to North America this fall. He’s just unveiled the routing for “A Place We Knew” tour, which sees the singer/songwriter playing venues two to three times larger than stops on his debut excursion earlier this year.
The routing includes performances at House Of Blues in Boston, New Orleans, Dallas and San Diego, along with gigs at The Wiltern in Los Angeles and the newly reopened Webster Hall in New York.
The multi-platinum selling Australian artist is supporting his debut full-length album, A Place We Knew, which was released in March. The LP includes the hit single “Be Alright,” which hit the Top 10 in 23 countries on iTunes, along with No. 23 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. His latest single, “Stake Awake,” is the No 1 most added at Hot AC.
Lewis was featured on the cover of Pollstar last month, shortly after he was named Apple Music’s latest Up Next Artist and made his late night debut with an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
His manager, Jonathan Eshak, spoke about the connection Lewis had with audiences from the start, recalling seeing the singer/songwriter open for Mick Management client Brett Dennen in summer 2017.
“I went to a couple shows and saw the reaction of the crowd to Dean and it was evident then. Certain people connect in a special way and Dean just has that,” Eshak says. “I think the [singer/songwriters] that find a way to connect are the ones that have the ability to say familiar things but in a new way.”
Lewis’ summer plans includes festival appearances including Lollapalooza in Chicago and Outside Lands in San Francisco. His fall North American tour begins Aug. 6 at Minneapolis’ First Avenue.
Artist and Spotify presales start May 1 and the general onsale begins May 3.
