Morrison Hotel Gallery, Rolling Live Studios and Spotify are putting on a charity virtual music festival called (DE)TOUR on Aug. 15 to support artists and crew affected by the live industry shutdown.
Performing artists at the fest include Ringo Starr, Linda Perry, Slash, Gavin Rossdale, Macy Gray, Sean Lennon, Jesse Malin, Cheap Trick and more. It will also include appearances from music photographers Mick Rock, Bob Gruen, Henry Dilitz, Danny Clinch, and Lynn Goldsmith.
“Morrison Hotel Gallery is doing what it does best: reminding people of the power of music and community,” says Timothy White, co-owner of Morrison Hotel Gallery.
The event will be streamed for free at RollingLiveStudios.com. Spotify will match all donations during the livestream up to $10 million to MusiCares and the National Independent Venue Association as part of its COVID-19 Music Relief Project.
There will be a special VIP fundraiser experience with exclusive merch and a backstage Zoom meet and greet.
MusiCares has been on the frontline of providing relief to music industry professionals affected by the COVID-19 shutdown and NIVA has been advocating for the industry’s venues.
Dayna Frank, President of NIVA and CEO of First Avenue, was the cover feature for Pollstar’s 2020 Impact 50 issue. She also recently participated in a One-On-On Digital Session.
