DHP Family Adds Two London Venues

Soho’s Borderline and The Garage in Highbury are to become a part of production and promotion company DHP Family’s roster.

The Borderline is scheduled to undergo “major physical refurbishment” between December and March 2017. “The Garage will also benefit from an extensive refresh taking place over several months without the need for closure,” an announcement from DHP reads.

The company plansto bring its expertise in design, service, product, programming and entertainment to “realize the full potential of both venues.”

The Borderline is a 300-capacity venue that opened in 1988 and was operated by Mama Group since 2007. According to the DHP announcement, the keys to the venue were handed over on May 27. Academy Music Group operated the 600-cap Garage.

When DHP Family made the announcement, the deal was still subject to completion, but is “expected to fall in place very shortly.” DHP Family also owns Nottingham venues Rock City, Rescue Rooms, Stealth and The Bodega. It acquired Thekla in Bristol in 2010 and opened Oslo in Hackney, London, in 2014.
