Dolores O’Riordan Heads Up New Supergroup

The Cranberries frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan, former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke and New York-based DJ/producer Olé Koretsky have joined forces as D.A.R.K. The group makes its big debut in May with an album release and brief tour.

Science Agrees is due out May 27 via Cooking Vinyl. The 10-track release was created in NYC and Ontario, mixed in California and mastered in London, with all three artists contributing to arrangement and production.

According to the band’s bio, the “album captures the essence of three distinctive personalities, incorporating their love of electronica and New Wave.” Influences on the release include Angelo Badalamenti, The Cure, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Magazine, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, and REM. The LP’s production and sonic experimentation was “inspired by Brian Eno, post-punk, post-disco, RZA and modern hip hop.”
