Dolores O’Riordan Tour Canceled

Less than a month after announcing the dates for her 2009 North American tour, singer-songwriter Dolores O’Riordan has canceled all 13 upcoming gigs.

The Irish singer and leader of The Cranberries was set to kick off the tour Sept. 23 at the Club Soda in Montreal with dates through an Oct. 12 show at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. Additional shows were set for Washington D.C., New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, Denver, Minneapolis and San Francisco.

The tour was canceled without a specific reason given.

“The winds of change are blowing strongly, and as a result the 2009 Dolores O’Riordan tour has been cancelled,” reads a message on O’Riordan’s Web site.

“At this time, Dolores expresses her very sincere apologies, but has asked us to relay to all of you that with change…what was old, just may become new again. 😉 Stay tuned for further special announcements.”

O’Riordan last toured in December 2007. The Cranberries have been on hiatus since 2003 and last performed together in December 2002.
