Aftershock announces 2022 lineup

Aftershock will be returning to Discovery Park in Sacramento, Calif., from Oct. 6-9, and the event has announced 90 bands and an expansion to four stages.

Slipknot, Kiss, My Chemical Romance, and Foo Fighters will be serving as the event’s headliners. Rob Zombie, Judas Preist, Papa Roach, Shinedown, Bring Me The Horizon, Evanescence, Lamb Of God, A Day to Remember, Architects, Halestorm, Stone Temple Pilots, Chevelle and much more will all be joining the event as well.

Last year saw Aftershock return from the pandemic bigger and better than ever, with 40,000 attendees per day over the weekend and 25,000 on Thursday. Following the immense success of last year’s event, Danny Wimmer Presents wanted this year’s festival to surpass their previous achievements.

“I think we’re just really fortunate that this is happening,” Danny Wimmer Presents CEO Danny Hayes told Pollstar while onsite at last year’s Aftershock Festival. “We’re stoked to be back at work, doing what we love.”

2021’s Aftershock was estimated to have brought in $30 to the local economy, and 75% of the festival’s attendees had traveled from outside of the region, according to Mike Testa, CEO of Visit Sacramento. Last year’s four-day event grossed a total of $16.4 million, according to reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice. In 2017, the festival had grossed more than $4 million for its two dates in October.

The event first began in 2012 and expanded to three days in 2019. Once the festival returned in 2021, they added an extra date, with plans to make this year’s event even more populous. Last year’s headliners included Cypress Hill, Metallica, and The Original Misfits.

Passes for this year’s event are currently onsale, with single-day GA passes starting at $119.99 and four-day GA passes beginning at $389.99. Single-day VIP tickets start at $269.99, while four-day VIP is currently selling for $729.99.

Jack Daniels, Coors Light, KOLAS and Weedmaps have all partnered with this year’s event. More information pertaining to this year’s COVID-19 guidelines will be shared closer to the event.
