Electric Forest 2022 To Feature String Cheese Incident, Porter Robinson, Disco Biscuits And More

Electric Forest will return to Rothbury, Mich., from June 23-26, 2022, with a lineup topped by The String Cheese Incident, Disclosure, The Disco Biscuits, GRiZ, Sylvan Esso, Porter Robinson, Slander, Fisher, Louis The Child and Big Gigantic. Electric Forest revealed the lineup earlier through its EF Radio platform, playing a track from each artist who will be making an appearance throughout the four-day event.

“It’s always blocked off the calendar,” Louis the Child said in a statement. “Whether we’re playing or not – the gang goes to Forest.”

The festival will also see performances from the likes of Big Wild, CharlestheFirst, CloZee, John Summit, Liquid Stranger, LSDream, Sidepiece, Subtronics, Toro Y Moi, Whethan, A Hundred Drums, Deathpact, Duckwrth, Eli & Fur, Mersiv, Moore Kismet, Tsuruda, and more.

Electric Forest’s 2022 event will be its first since canceling both its 2020 and 2021 editions due to COVID-19. The festival celebrated its 10th anniversary last year with the short documentary “A Million Shining Lights – 10 Years of Electric Forest.” 

This year’s headliners are formidable touring acts. In August, The String Cheese Incident’s performance at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif., grossed $348,780, while the band’s three-night July 2019 run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., grossed a little over $1.9 million. CloZee joined GRiZ for his Ride Waves Tour back in 2019, with their show at Berkeley’s Greek grossing $279,160. Porter Robinson hosted his second annual Second Sky festival in the Bay Area in September.

The 2017 and 2018 editions of Electric Forest took place over two weekends, with every artist on the lineup performing both weekends in 2018. The following year, the festival returned to a single weekend.

In 2020, the Rothbury Village Council rejected the festival’s proposed postponement to September 2020, making it one of the first festivals to scrap the year completely. 

Festival tickets from 2020 will roll over into the 2022 edition of the festival, with some remaining tickets going on sale on Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. ET.
