Elton John Postpones ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ March 26-May 2

“This tough decision has been made with the safety and well-being of his fans put to the fore, at a time when health services are under increased pressure and with the concern that these gatherings risk accelerating the spread of the Coronavirus [COVID-19],” the statement reads. 

Sir Elton’s May 22 to July 8 dates remain as scheduled.

Ticketholders of the affected dates will receive new event information shortly, with original tickets honored at the rescheduled performances. 

Elton John was No. 2 on Pollstar’s Top 100 Worldwide Tours for 2019, with $212 million grossed on the second year of his three-year farewell. In February he graced the Pollstar Awards stage to accept his award for Major Tour of The Year,  where he thanked his agent of 50 years, Howard Rose, and vowed to win the award again next year.

The 72-year-old legend had missed a few dates in recent months, including a show in Indianapolis following the passing of his mother-in-law as well as some dates in New Zealand to recover from a bout of pneumonia.
