EminemThe KillersMuse, and more than 100 other artists will take to The Farm at Great Stage Park near Manchester, Tenn., June 7-10 for the 17th annual Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, with ticket packages going on sale January 12 at 10 a.m.at the festival’s website.

Superfly and A.C. Entertainment again present the four-day music, food and camping extravaganza with another deep lineup that also includes FutureSturgill Simpson, Bon Iver (performing two sets), Bassnectar

Given competition from numerous other destination festivals, Bonnaroo is keeping up with the Joneses by upgrading and unveiling several new features and improvements for its 2018 edition.

This year, the communal areas formerly known as pods will be called Plazas. The Plazas are strategically located and well-lit public places throughout the campgrounds that will provide shade, free public WiFi, showers, fun activities and art, charging stations, Clean Vibes Trading Post redemption centers, misting stations, medical, safety stations, information and portable restrooms.

Several permanent “Barns” are being installed in various locations onsite including VIPs that are being designed to create more vibrant scenes in the campgrounds similar to the legendary ones at The Grind and The Garage. A pristine wooded hangout similar to The Grove is also being installed, according to a statement.

Bonnaro is also looking for new, innovative ways to keep its fan community together long after the stages are spiked, including Droolworthy Food with celebrity chef Tim Love, designed to be a special community focused area, and other experiential collaborations, including House of Yes, Little Cinema, The Well, tonalism by DUBLAB and The B-Hive Under The Tower.

The Groop Camping experience will add themed camps including the Communal Campground, created by Matt Shultz of Cage the Elephant. In addition to Shultz’s campground, other themed camps include Solo Roo’ers Camp for fans attending alone, SheROO by Mothership (a portion of proceeds of which will benefit the Tegan and Sara Foundation), Fun SuperJam Camp, for musicians, as well as Family Camping and Soberoo Camping sites.

Bonnaroo is also reviving the Kalliope stage this year for late-nighters, with nonstop DJs into the early hours.

Live Nation’s acquired a controlling interest in Bonnaroo from founders AC Entertainment and Superfly in 2015.

While Bonnaroo does not release box office or attendance figures, the Tennessean reported a slip to 45,537 in 2016, with headliners that included Pearl Jam, Dead & Company and LCD Soundsystem. The festival sprang back in 2017 with a lineup topped by U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd, and Chance The Rapper.
