Ticketmaster Switzerland today announced a deal with Samsung Hall in Dübendorf Zurich. Ticketmaster will provide its technology to oversee every step of the fan’s ticketing journey when purchasing tickets for shows at the 5,000-capacity venue.

Anke Stephan, CEO of Samsung Hall, commented: “We are pleased to announce this new partnership with Ticketmaster, one that will provide clear benefits for us and our customers. In choosing the team at Ticketmaster and their innovative products and services, we are more than satisfied that we’ve taken a significant step in the right direction to ensure our future success.”
George Egloff, MD Ticketmaster Switzerland, said: “The team and I are thrilled to join forces with Samsung Hall and support the wide variety of events held there, from club events right through to concerts with some of the finest local and international artists. We have the expertise, experience, and leading technology, but most importantly share Samsung Hall’s fan-first focus.”
Samsung Hall is located on the outskirts of Zurich and opened in January 2017. It occupies over 4,500 square meters and holds company events, shows, and concerts for between 50 and 5,000 guests. Pollstar took a closer look at the building ahead of its opening.

Meanwhile, in Germany, the team behind Wacken Open Air were forced to cancel their alternative festival, Bullhead City, due to new coronavirus restrictions being imposed on the district of Steinburg, where Wacken is located, and where Bullhead City was scheduled to take place, Sept. 16-18.

Holger Hübner, managing director of the organizing WOA Festival GmbH, commented, “We cannot wait to be able to experience metal live again in a rollicking atmosphere. But even more important to us is the safety of everyone involved, including the people of the Steinburg district. To this end, we have been working intensively with the local authorities over the past weeks.
“Considering the current situation, a boisterous festival, as our fans deserve, is not conceivable due to the measures that have to be taken, which include, among other things, a mask obligation in almost all areas of the festival.”
Wacken’s other MD, Thomas Jensen, commented: “We consider this decision to be the right one, even though we are sad that we will not be able to celebrate a reunion with the metalheads in September after all. We are certain the fans will understand this and would like to express our infinite gratitude to them once again.
“It is not to be taken for granted that thousands of people express their trust in this way, more so in a situation that is difficult for everyone. Even though we are really downcast right now, we will continue to do everything we can to present them metal live again as soon as possible – in a form we all know and love. At the latest there will be a reunion at W:O:A 2022 which will be truly special!”
Wacken Open Air 2022 is scheduled to take place, Aug. 4-6, 2022. Bands including Slipknot, Judas Priest, Till Lindemann, Limp Bizkit and more are confirmed.
