Rebranded and introduced features that should help promoters navigate the crisis.

Event Genius, a subsidiary of Festicket, has launched a string of new products, including “COVID-secure features” built to help the return to live events.

Cashless payments have become increasingly appealing to promoters, especially during the COVID crisis, seeing that it reduces contact between fans and staff, gets rid of “unhygienic cash,” as the announcement from Event Genius put its, promotes distancing and improves audience flow.
As part of its “Covid-secure product updates,” the company introduced “unmanned self-service top up stations,” as well as a new mobile top up option that will allow customers to manage their funds autonomously, further reducing contact points between humans.
Accepting other forms of cashless payments like cards and mobile payment options, as well as “100% offline redundancy” of the system have become standards for any serious operator in the cashless field, and Event Genius is no different.
Event Genius’ reporting suite gives promoters access to payment data and other insights, which are “usually only accessible to the banks,” according to the announcement.
A “significant update” to the company’s ticketing system now allows organizers to request full attendee details for all party members “as a requirement to issue and validate tickets to customers after purchase,” which is meant to facilitate the tracking and tracing of guests.
Promoters can issue time slot specific tickets, as well, to keep the size of crowds arriving at the venue at any given time manageable.

To further reduce ingress congestion and improve audience flow, Event Genius has introduced “contactless self-scan terminals,” which allow fans to scan themselves into events, again, reducing the amount of contact between guests and staff.

The company also stated that it is working with “partners and event promoters evaluating and deploying methods to introduce COVID-19 testing kits pre-event.”
It stated that it could utilize the test results as an additional entry requirement “with temperature checking and sanitizing on site.”
Festicket CEO Zack Sabban commented: “It’s clear that 2020 has been a tough time to be in the events industry, but it’s been amazing to be able to strike up high profile partnerships alongside the likes of AEG Presents, Rolling Loud, Rock in Rio, Afro Nation and more recently EDC Portugal, Revibe Wellness Retreat Festival (USA) and Amnesia Ibiza.
“Seeing organisers of this nature putting their faith in what we’re doing to help fans and promoters get back to the events they love is both encouraging and extremely rewarding.”
Alongside making its products Covid-proof, Event Genius also rebranded them, to egTicketing, egMarketing, egTravel, egAccess and egPay.
