Eventim UK Appoints John Gibson As Managing Director

CTS Eventim today announced that it has appointed John Gibson as managing director of Eventim UK in January.

Gibson joins Eventim UK from online marketplace Groupon UK, where he headed up live ticketing pan-EMEA. 
He also has significant experience in the ticketing services and live entertainment industry, having previously held senior positions at SeatGeek Entertainment, Vivaticket, Ticketmaster UK and SEE Tickets.
Eventim UK chairman Nick Blackburn said, Gibson had “an in-depth knowledge, and understanding, of all aspects of our industry.”

For the Germany-based live entertainment giant, which operates across Europe, the UK represents a core market, although hard to crack, seeing how competitive it is.

Ticketmaster is regarded as the market leader, followed by Vivendi’s See Tickets. AEG’s AXS and Eventbrite are the other major players.
Independent ticket agents include Dice, The Ticket Factory, Gigantic, Ticket Arena, Ticketline and Skiddle.
