David Edwards Sr. filed suit in Hamilton County, Ohio, May 4, accusing Anselmo and Williams of inciting the crowd to attack him after his “dialogue” with the band during the July 14, 2015 concert. Also named as defendants are the venue, Live Nation and House of Blues, and Tenable Protective Services.

Edwards claims that during the concert, he “had a dialogue with Superjoint” that resulted in Edwards “being assaulted by numerous unidentified concertgoers, causing … serious personal injury.”

He seeks $75,000 in actual and punitive damages, according to court documents. Edwards claims he continues to receive medical care for multiple physical injuries, some permanent impairment, and mental pain and suffering.

He charges Bogart’s, Live Nation and House of Blues with negligence in the case; Superjoint, Anselmo and Williams with “actionable conduct” related to incitement; and Tenable Protective Service with negligence and failure of duty of reasonable care to prevent his injuries.

A request for comment was not immediately returned by Live Nation.
