Red Bull Music Festival returns to New York from April 30 to May 18.

Red Bull Music Festival New York announced the lineup Wednesday for its seventh iteration in the Big Apple, which takes place from April 30 to May 18.

As usual, the event features a diverse, outré slate of artists – including FKA twigs, Tierra Whack, Teyana Taylor and Rosalía – performing at several New York venues.

FKA twigs, who will perform at Manhattan’s Park Avenue Armory on May 11 and May 12, is among the festival’s most noteworthy bookings. The gigs mark the boundary-pushing artist’s first headlining shows in New York since 2015 – which were also part of Red Bull’s event. (FKA twigs performed at New York’s Panorama Music Festival in 2016.)

Park Avenue Armory previously teamed with Red Bull Music Festival to present Anohni in 2016 and Oneohtrix Point Never in 2018.

The festival begins April 30 with a performance by Rosalía. The rising artist will bring her forward-thinking fusion of flamenco, R&B, folk and electronica to Webster Hall; her show is now the earliest announced gig at the newly renovated East Village club.

Red Bull Music Festival’s buzziest hip-hop booking is Tierra Whack, the young Philadelphia MC who broke out last year with Whack World, her debut album comprised of 15 one-minute songs. On May 10, she’ll take over the Rainbow Room – situated on the 65th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza – with “a quirky and surreal stage design” and the multiple (longer that one minute) songs she has released since Whack World.

The festival’s other hip-hop booking is JPEGMAFIA, who will stage an in-the-round performance titled “A Tribute to Buttermilk Jesus” at Brooklyn venue Elsewhere on May 8.

Following her performance at Red Bull Music Festival Chicago last year, singer, songwriter and dancer Teyana Taylor and her all-female production company The Aunties will perform at Manhattan Center’s Grand Ballroom on May 15. Titled “House of Petunia,” Red Bull’s announcement promises Taylor’s show “will be her most ambitious show to date, the kind she was born to put on.”

Red Bull Music Festival will also continue to present premier electronic programming. Composer and producer Holly Herndon will present her new live show Proto, which shares its name with her new album, on May 16 at Pioneer Works, in Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood.

Two nights later, Nyege Nyege Night will close out the festival with an evening of Ugandan electronic music at Brooklyn’s Black Flamingo. Taking its name from label and collective Nyege Nyege Tapes, the event features the U.S. debut of Kampire – one of Mixmag‘s 10 breakthrough DJs of 2018 – and the duo Mczo & Duke. American producer Bearcat will also perform.

Other acts booked for Red Bull Music Festival include genre-bending jazz ensemble Onyx Collective (May 3) and experimental artist Moor Mother (May 19).

Since making its New York debut in 2013, Red Bull Music Festival has brought hosted artists big and small. Last year’s edition featured 18 events – twice as many as this year’s nine – and included a conversations with Robyn and Harry Belafonte, performances by Fever Ray and Oneohtrix Point Never and a themed reggaeton evening.

Red Bull Music Festival has staged similar events in other major cities from Tokyo to Moscow to Paris. Last month, a Los Angeles version of the festival included headlining performances by Robyn and Rae Sremmurd.
