Heads up FKP Scorpio’s new office in Belgium

Germany-based concert promoter FKP Scorpio announced the opening of a new office in Belgium, headed by former Live Nation Belgium promoter and agent Jan Digneffe.
The new Belgium establishment marks FKP Scorpio’s tenth office. The company also has locations in Norway, Austria, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland, Denmark, Finland, UK and Germany, where the company is headquartered in Hamburg.
FKP founder and CEO Folkert Koopmans said he’s always had great interest in the Belgium market. “It makes perfect sense in our North European portfolio to be able to promote shows there, too,” he said, adding that he had “great confidence that FKP Scorpio Belgium will be in safe hands with Jan Digneffe.”

Digneffe was with Live Nation Belgium for a total span of 13 years. He started his live career as booker and promoter at Jazztronaut Entertainment in 2002. After three years he made the switch to Live Nation Belgium.
In March 2012 Digneffe moved to London to join Free Trade Agency as an agent with Paul Boswell and James Alderman. It was then that Digneffe got to know FKP Scorpio “as a fantastic and reliable partner to collaborate with,” according to his own words.
After two years at Free Trade he moved back to Belgium and Live Nation, until recently.
What inspired him about FKP Scorpio was the fact that it was made up of “people that actually live for music and work towards an independent, clever but yet ‘human’ way to make a difference in the current music industry that globalizes and faces new challenges every day.
“As from today on I am very happy to be part of FKP Scorpio. I am looking forward with lots of enthusiasm and ambition towards the projects that we will realise all together in Belgium.”
It’s been a very busy couple of years for FKP Scorpio, not least thanks to Ed Sheeran’s record-setting world tour, which saw FKP promote a total of 28 shows in seven European countries.
Its flagship festivals in Germany, Hurricane and Southside, also had great years, attracting 68,000 and 60,000 fans per day, respectively, with a lineup that featured Foo Fighters, The Cure, Die Toten Hosen, Mumford & Sons, Macklemore, Tame Impala and numerous others.
The way things look, FKP has no plans of slowing down in 2020.
