Finnish superstar Cheek played the final two shows of his rap-career in Lahti, Finland, Aug. 24-25

60,000 people visited the ski jumping stadium in Lahti, Finnland, Aug. 24-25, to witness the last two concerts in the career of Cheek, one of the country’s most popular artists.
The two concerts, promoted by Fullsteam Agency, marked the grand finale of an artist career spanning more than 20 years. Cheek’s farewell tour started with seven arena shows in spring, continued with 17 festival headline appearances in summer, and culminated in the two Lahti shows.
According to the promoter, “the stage production presented in the final concerts surpassed the scale of any prior concert in Finland. 1000 square meters of video wall was attached to a stage 60 meters wide and 25 meters tall.
“The amphitheatre-shaped venue was customized for the concert with massive grandstands, enabling an unobstructed view to the stage for all 30,000 concert-goers. The final concert on Saturday was also broadcasted live on national TV to over 1,000,000 viewers.”
It marked the biggest Finnish concert production to date, according to the promoter.
Fullsteam started working with Cheek in 2016. Since then, the rapper played 80 shows in front of an audience of 750,000 people in total.
“Working with Cheek has been surreal yet so realistic. To be able to pull this kind of numbers and put on this level of production in a country with only 5.5 million inhabitants must be a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” said promoter Rauha Kyyrö.
Fullsteam Agency is part of German promoter FKP Scorpio, which in turn belongs to CTS Eventim. The year 2018 has been the biggest to date for Fullsteam Agency, with two stadium, 13 arena and over 1,500 other shows. The company’s summer festivals Provinssi and Sideways attracted a combined audience of 102,000 visitors.
