Florence + the Machine, Anderson .Paak, Skrillex Top FORM Arcosanti Lineup

FORM Arcosanti, the unique three-day festival held in Arcosanti, Ari., 70 miles outside of Phoenix, will return this May for a sixth year.

Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Kaytranada and Skrillex will top the event’s lineup, which was announced Tuesday, along with Florence + the Machine, whose FORM Arcosanti performance was unveiled yesterday as part of a larger tour announcement.

Slated for May 10 to May 12, this year’s FORM Arcosanti features several other notable bookings, including DJ Koze, Peggy Gou, Bonobo, Khruangbin, Pussy Riot, Snail Mail, Vagabon, Lonnie Holley, JPEGMAFIA, Japanese Breakfast, American Football and Destroyer.

Florida band Hundred Waters launched FORM Arcosanti in 2014. The town from which the fest takes its name and the amphitheater where its performances occur were conceived by the late Italian architect Paolo Soleri, who began work — which continues to this day — on the “urban laboratory” in 1970.

Beyond diverse musical booking, FORM’s primary draws are its small scale and extra-musical events. This year, the festival will host only 2,000 attendees, who will also have access to programming including a literary conversation between Florence + The Machine’s Florence Welch and Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova and a talk by Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors. Additionally, the event promises no overlapping sets.

“Seeing a performance in the Arcosanti Amphitheater is unlike anything else,” FORM curator and Hundred Waters drummer Zach Tetrault said in a statement. “The intimacy and intentional design of the space makes every audience member feel like they are a part of the show. Having artists like Florence and Paak play in that venue will be a life changing experience. It’s also important to us to feature groundbreaking poets like Yrsa Daley-Ward who are completely changing the landscape of poetry forever. We couldn’t be more grateful and excited about this year.”
