Debuting his 3D set at the FYF Fest in Los Angeles in July.

Acclaimed electronic musician, DJ, film director and artist Flying Lotus is back with a new 27-track LP coming out May 24 and a full fall tour of North America starting with an appearance at Outside Lands in San Francisco, which runs Aug. 9-11.

The tour announcement comes as he releases more music from the new album, Flamagra, an ambitious electronic/funk/R&B album with features from the likes of Anderson .Paak, George Clinton, Tierra Whack, Denzel Curry and others.
The tour includes 3D Live’s patented 3-D screen technology incorporating lightweight, low-profile glasses. The tech was first used on Flying Lotus’ fall tour of 2017.
“It’s such a unique technology that you have to be there in person to see it,” 3D Live’s Ryan Pardeiro told Pollstar ahead of the previous tour. “It’s a holographic-type of 3D, and the type of imagery is so present, with the space around the artist, that it feels like it’s in the same space there with him.”
The show was hailed for its brightness even in outdoor settings.
“With LED, the brightness level is so high in comparison that we can use a whole stage lighting setup without having that fear of dealing with shadows being cast by the projector or washing the screen out, or those kinds of things,” Pardeiro added.

Dates on the new tour include a lot of secondary markets this time around, including Missoula, Boise, Oklahoma City, Madison, Wis., and wraps with dates in San Diego and Los Angeles.
