Garfield At Indiana Fairgrounds Coliseum

The Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum has a new name and includes Garfield the cat on the roof.

Officials announced the arena will be known as . Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. signed a 10-year, $6 million naming rights contract.

Meanwhile, the roof will have sport a sign of comic-strip feline Garfield, created by Indiana cartoonist Jim Davis. Garfield is part of the company’s marketing campaign.

New arena signage probably will not be installed until the spring.

The 75-year-old arena was known as Pepsi Coliseum from 1991 through 2012. It reopened in April after a $63 million renovation that took 18 months. Renovations included gutting the interior, building two-level seating and installing new lighting and sound systems.
