Gov’t Mule’s “Dark Side Of The Mule” alter ego will co-headline six dates with The Avett Brothers and special guest The Magpie Salute beginning July 12 on the East Coast.

The plan is for Gov’t Mule to transform into “Dark Side Of The Mule,” an audio/visual feast that includes the band’s interpretations of several Pink Floyd songs.  Joined by guest musicians, Gov’t Mule is promising the set will include the band’s “most ambitious and advanced live production and light show yet.”

Gov’t Mule has performed “Dark Side Of The Mule” only twice – Halloween 2008 at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre where the band recorded its Dark Side Of The Mule live album, and 2015 at the Mountain Jam fest.

Pollstar received a box office report for the 2008 Halloween show – 2,248 out of 2,740 tickets sold for a night’s gross reaching $64,000.  The band spent some time in Europe in late 2017 where they sold out The Academy in Dublin, Ireland, and played to near capacity crowds at establishments such as Backstage in Munich and Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin.

Gov’t Mule will also bring its “Dark Side Of The Mule” performance to Peach Fest in Moosic, Pa., July 21.
