“I’m excited to join the United Palace, it’s a rarity to find a historic venue so well preserved and maintained,” Miller said in a statement. “I look forward to retaining their existing programming while expanding it in both genre and quantity of events. With the growth Upper Manhattan has been seeing over recent years combined with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical ‘In the Heights’ being adapted to film, timing is perfect for this next chapter of the United Palace.”
The United Palace is an interfaith spiritual artistry center, entertainment venue and artistic hub in the heart of Washington Heights. Originally built in 1930 as a grand movie theater and one of five Loew’s Wonder Theaters, it is now Manhattan’s fourth-largest venue.
Recent boxoffice history from United Palace includes three nights of Anuel AA, which sold out at a combined 9,124 tickets sold and $1.14 million grossed, Beach House in August (3,162, $135,471) and Lenny Kravitz, who sold 3,050 tickets and grossed $319.091 on his Sept. 27 show.
