Julien Baker has unveiled the schedule for a fall North American tour that’s routed along with her appearance at September’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. She’s also announced a European trek booked April-May 2022.

The singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist – who is also known as a member of Boygenius with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus – released her third studio album, Little Oblivions, in February. The LP has received a lot of praise, including a review from the AV Club declaring that it is “her most vulnerable record yet – and her best.”
“In many ways, Little Oblivions is a re-introduction to Baker’s music,” AV Club’s Tatiana Tenreyro writes. “Both of her previous records focused on a soft, minimalist sound that highlighted Baker’s powerful voice and words. It’s the kind of music that is best listened to alone. … But Little Oblivions takes on a heavier sound reminiscent of her time in Forrister and The Star Killers. This is a version of Baker – one that carries emo and pop-punk roots – that many are not familiar with. The introduction of drums and synths feels appropriate for this record, as they intensify the emotion of the lyrics.”
Baker will perform on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” on Wednesday, April 7.
The September-November tour kicks off Sept. 3 at Saturn in Birmingham, Ala., followed by a Sept. 4 gig at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta and her Sept. 5 set at Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn.
Stops on the routing include 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.; Beacon Theatre in New York; House of Blues Boston; The Wiltern in Los Angeles; and the Granada Theatre in Lawrence, Kan.
The European 2022 tour launches April 15 at the TivoliVredenburg Pandora in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Tickets go on sale Friday, April 9.
Reports submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice foir Baker include a Nov. 25, 2018, show at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Ore., that sold 1,460 tickets and grossed $36,782.
