Keith Urban Shares 2022 U.S. Dates For ‘The Speed of Now World Tour’

Country star Keith Urban announced the U.S. leg of his first world tour in four years on Wednesday.
Urban hits the road in the States for “The Speed of Now World Tour” at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Fla., on June 17, kicking off nearly six months of amphitheater and arena touring that will conclude at Xcel Center in St. Paul, Minn., on Nov. 5.
The tour begins with predominantly outdoor shows in July and August, including stops at Cleveland’s Blossom Music Center (July 15), Detroit’s DTE Energy Music Theatre (Aug. 19) and Milwaukee’s American Family Insurance Amphitheater (Aug. 28).
As the weather turns crisper, Urban will switch to arenas, making stops at venues including Denver’s Ball Arena (Sept. 16), Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena (Oct. 7) and Atlanta’s State Farm Arena (Oct. 8).
“Every night is the first time we’ve played these songs for that audience, in that moment,” said Urban, who released his most recent album, The Speed of Now Part 1, in September 2020, in a statement. “It’s why every show is different – spontaneous and unpredictable – even for us!”
“I’ve always considered myself a live performer first,” Urban continued. “It’s what I’ve always done and it’s what my music needs to live and breathe. Our shows are all about living in the moment. They’re a totally interactive and immersive experience where everyone can participate in whatever way they want – sing, dance, do whatever.”
Urban announced an 11-date European tour, which will stop in the U.K., Germany and the Netherlands from April 28 to May 24, 2022, in October. He also will play a three-night stand at Las Vegas’ The Colosseum at Caesars Palace May 27-29.
In December 2022, he’ll return to his native Australia for a tour Down Under.
Urban appeared on Pollstar‘s year-end worldwide touring chart fives times in the ’10s, ranking between No. 48 and 61 in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2016, prior to achieving his highest mark on the chart – No. 42 – from $39 million grossed in 2018.
Urban’s eight highest-grossing box office reports have all come from two- or three-night runs in Australia, including his top earner, a three-show stand at Brisband Entertainment Center in Boondall that grossed $2.99 million. His highest-grossing solo headlining showing in the U.S. is a two-night July 2018 run at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena At Harveys in Stateline, Nev., which sold 13,509 tickets and grossed $1.44 million.
