Kraftwerk To Return To North America This Summer

Kraftwerk will return to North American for a summer tour this year.

Pioneering German electronic act Kraftwerk announced its first North American tour since 2016 on Monday.

The trek begins at Seattle’s Moore Theatre on June 19 and concludes at Montreal festival Osheaga on Aug. 1. In the intervening weeks, Kraftwerk will primarily play theaters, such as New York’s Radio City Music Hall (July 18) and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium (July 24), but will also hit other types of venues, including Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre (June 29).

Kraftwerk’s tour will utilize the 3-D visuals and performance art that it has used heavily over the last decade.

Kraftwerk will perform at several of the American venues it played in 2016, including Dallas’ Bomb Factory, where the band sold 2,765 tickets and grossed $140,963 on Sept. 10, 2016, and Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, where it moved 2,297 tickets and grossed $132,955 at a sold-out show that same month, according to Pollstar Boxoffice reports.

Kraftwerk’s strongest showing internationally in recent years was a three-night stand at London’s Royal Albert Hall in June 2017, where it sold 11,307 tickets and grossed $907,489.
