It’s all about the pre-show party when “Tailgate Fest” takes over the outside grounds at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif. Headlined by Toby Keith, the one-day event is self-described as “bringing country to the city as the first Country Music festival to cater to the growing tailgate culture.”

Folks who can’t get enough tailgating should mark Sept. 1 on their calendars.  There will be no packing up your stuff and moving inside come showtime because the stage will be outdoors with all the tailgate fun.

And what fun! Along with the event hosting Toby Keith’s “Should’ve Been A Cowboy Tour XXV,” “Tailgate Fest” will feature several genre-curated endeavors, such as “The Tailgate Cornhole World Championships” at the “Extreme Cornhole Court” where groups will compete for prizes by pitching bags of corn into target holes.

Of course, you can’t have a proper tailgate party without trucks and “Tailgate Fest” does not disappoint.  “The Jacked Up Truck Competition” gives truck lovers the opportunity to show off their decked-out vehicles with the winner taking home a brand-new dream machine.  Then there’s “Two Step Honky Tonk” giving dancers a chance to strut their stuff.  And don’t forget the dunk tank because, well, why not?

Plus, you can’t beat the lineup which now includes Nelly, Joe Nichols, David Nail, Jana Kramer, and Parmalee.

Tickets are on sale now.  Options range from the $109 general admission ticket to super VIP with reserved lawn chair viewing, and include access to a stage-side pool. Keep checking Pollstar’s “Tailgate Fest” page for updates.
