Laura Jane Grace Announces March Canadian Tour

Laura Jane Grace is following up her previously announced East Coast solo run in December with a Canadian headline tour. The multi-instrumentalist, author and activist, who is best known as the frontwoman for Against Me!, will be supported by U.K. songwriter Lande Hekt and Canadian punk duo Mobina Galore. 

LJG will be showing off tunes from her new solo EP, At War With The Silverfish, which was released in September. The EP was recorded at Grace’s TinyQuietStudio in Chicago and Electric Eel in St. Louis and mixed by her Devouring Mothers bandmate Marc Hudson.

An announcement describes the new project as featuring “a range of stripped-back, poignant modes that amount to an honest and holistic account of our shared humanity,” as well as a capsule “of a woman’s artistic pulse; love, longing and loneliness told in affecting turns of phrase.”

“These are songs of late night madness and loneliness, orphan songs that came wandering in looking to feed like insects,” Grace says in a statement.  

She adds, “I’ve learned that if you share your experience with good intentions that the universe will always surprise you with abundant return. Every song is an act of faith; you don’t necessarily know why you’re singing it other than you know you’ve got to sing it.”

Reports for Grace submitted to Pollstar’s Boxoffice include a sold-out March 23, 2019, show at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Calif., that sold 488 tickets and grossed $9,760.

Grace’s 2022 tour plans kick off with a March 3 show at the Rec Room in Buffalo, N.Y., followed by a March 5 gig at Montreal’s Le National. Stops on the routing include Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. 

A ticket presale began today with the password “silverfish.” The general onsale starts Friday, Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. EST.
