The June 6 performance sold 4,500 tickets in Europe. A second live stream to the U.S. sold 2,000 tickets.

Laura Marling sold five times the amount of tickets for a virtual gig at London’s Union Chapel, June 6, than she could have sold for the real thing, seeing that the venue only holds 900 people.
Artists currently have very limited options of performing in front of an audience. Certain European countries have started to allow gigs for up to 500 people.
Portugal just hosted its first 2,000-plus capacity gig, but due to travel restrictions, it’ll be some time before international artists will be able to travel across Europe again.
The UK is a bit behind in its reopening plans, so the only opportunity to see Laura Marlin perform live at Union Chapel London was to buy a ticket for the June 6 YouTube live stream.
Marling’s team told Pollstar that ticket sales were 4,500 for the UK show, which could also be seen in continental Europe. Another close to 2,000 tickets were sold for a second live stream that was broadcast to the U.S. exclusively.
Union Chapel’s capacity is 900. Tickets were priced at £12 for the UK and $12 for the U.S. grossing £45,000 ($57,000) and $24,000, respectively.

The only thing missing was the audience.
