Lenore Travis Dies

Industry vet Lenore Travis, 67, died April 26 in a tractor accident on the Lincoln, Mass., farm she shared with her husband, George Travis.

For those who’ve been in the biz since the ’70s, Lenore is in many ways better known than her husband, the longtime tour manager of Bruce Springsteen.  Lenore, who worked for Tom Field and Associates in the ’70s, was Springsteen’s production manager when she first met George.

“She would pay zero attention to me because I was just the guy driving the Clair Bros. truck to Elton John’s show in Buffalo,” George told PLSN. “Then we met again later when I was rigging, and then again when I was in production. When we first married (in 1980), I was known by many as the guy who married Lenore.”
