“We are incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of Chester Bennington. The Linkin Park One More Light North American Tour has been canceled and refunds are available at point of purchase,” a statement from Live Nation read. “Our thoughts go out to all those affected.”

Bennington, 41, hanged himself from a bedroom door the Los Angeles County coroner confirmed today.

With Bennington as the lead vocalist,  Linkin Park sold millions of records and emerged as leaders in the nu metal genre.

The band’s social media accounts have been mostly silent regarding the death of Bennington, though the group’s Facebook page has been changed to feature pictures of the singer, prompting remembrances from fans.

“I’m kicking myself for not writing sooner. Your music has been an inspiration to me for over a decade. 2 years ago I had severe depression and wanted to end my life. I listened to “Breaking the habit” and it inspired me to keep fighting for my life! My heart is broken … Thank you for saving my life. I wish I could’ve saved yours, Chester,” one fan wrote.

“Thank you for being the voice of my anger, my frustrations and my pain in those teenage years. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for you the way you were there for me so many times before,” another wrote.

At press time the band’s profile picture of Bennington had received 53,000 responses, many of which echoed sentiments of those above.
